Ryan Pearson Time for a test... I've just returned from the Philippines having dived off Malapascua Island and Moalboal - both in Cebu. Here are some of the gastropods I found on the dives... who can ID the most? :P
Ryan Pearson PS. Not all my finest photo's, and I know there are some double ups :)
Blogie Robillo Nice collection, Ryan! I didn't see #9 in Malapascua...
Lindz Warren This looks more like Halgerda batangas Carlson & Hoff, 2000. Anyone else's thoughts on this? Cora van der Draaij can you tell us where this was photographed? Thanks.
Cora van der Draaij Moal boal cebu Filippijnen
Ron Silver Agree that this is H. batangas
Ron Silver Cora, don't be too disheartened. There are lots and lots of misidentified photos in many different books! :-D
Cora van der Draaij Oke thanx, but I keep on take pictures, Tuesday up to Bonaire
Bonar Sitohang found at Candidasa, Bali, Indonesia.
Roy Arthur David LontohHalgerda batangas?
Gary CobbHalgerda batangas is characterised by tubercles with an orange-red tip and a mantle colour pattern consisting of a network of solid red-orange lines. So I would say this is Halgerda carlsoni Rudman, 1978
Roy Arthur David Lontoh Thanks for sharing Gary :)
Blogie Robillo My 1st Halgerda batangas in the Davao Gulf!
3cm long; 12m depth @ Limao Reef
Lee Goldman Just to help make my point above, check this link out:http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/21917. AND more importantly, this one (from the Philippines showing local variation in the size of the tubercles):http://www.seaslugforum.net/message/10700
Roy Arthur David LontohHalgerda batangas, found @19m, length: 30mm. Dive site: Windows. Location: Gorontalo - Indonesia.
Sven Kahlbrock Looks more like Halgerda cf kahlsonii, cause batangas have small dots and no stripes on the back
Sven Kahlbrock but a nice shot ;-)
Roy Arthur David Lontoh Sven...thank you for the correct ID :-)
Arantxa Di Mare I think it's Halgerda batangas which has a mantle colour pattern consisting of a network of solid red-orange lines and Halgerda carlsoni has the scattering of small orange specks all over the mantle between the tubercles ( The sea slug forum)... :)
