Wilfried Bay-Nouailhat A little pycnoclavella for Bernard Picton, Ile de Groix, South-Brittany, depth 10 meters 04-16-2012. It extends the distribution of P. socialis.
Rob Spray Forgive a naive question... That looks very like Pycnoclavella stolonialis are they so similar?
Wilfried Bay-Nouailhat Oups! indeed it's stolonialis and not socialis, sorry for the typing error, that's why they look so similar ;o)
Rob Spray Phew... because that's the only one I know :-)
Richie West is the orangey ascidian tridemnium cereum? taken at westdale reef in pembs again. doctor squirts, please furnish me with your wisdom!
Richie West I think we need an ascidians seasearch group. david kipling, what do you reckon?
Richie West Or a NE Atlantic one to share our pretties with those of our Euopean neighbours :o)
Rob Spray Hi Richie, there's already a Seasearch Tunicates (one of the first formed) and there's also a NE Atlantic Tunicates... fill your boots :-)
Wilfried Bay-Nouailhat Hi, and what about Polysyncraton bilobatum ?! A close-up view will help. Nice Pycnoclavella stolonialis at the bottom !
David Kipling The main active tunicates group is the NE Atlantic one. The Seasearch Tunicates group is quiet, it was more a group to help plan Bernard's recent course.
David Kipling You have good spotting skills Wilfried, noticing those little white crosses at the bottom! I was mentioning this other Pycnoclavella species to Richie just the other day. We'll have to make him look for them properly now ;)
