Bob Whorton Quick question about C. alleni - Is there more than one classification for this particular Nudibranch? I ask because the majority I find around Lembeh & Anilao are around 7-10 cm, but on one occasion I found a one-off pink variety measuring in at over 25cm.
Gary CobbCeratosoma alleni can get quite large. 150 mm is the largest I know and I would love to see photos of your 250 mm specimen. As far as I know the animals coloration is determined by the food source. If they eat pink they are pink.
Bob Whorton Have a look in my "Philippines General" Album please. It was so big I was having trouble getting it in the 105 without loosing quality in the milky viz.
Bob Whorton I tagged you on the alleni
Gary Cobb Do you have the link?
Bob Whorton FB won't let me post internal links, but here's one to my Anilao page
Bob Whorton Won't let me post any links in the replies either. just added fresh post to site.
Gary Cobb Yes it is the same species. The food source makes them that color. Check the spelling...Ceratosoma alleni
