Suzan Meldonian King Blenny? Does anyone have the scientific name, I can't find this in any of my books. Know I've seen a few - photographed in Lembeh near the Mandarin site by the 2 abandoned ships. 5 feet of water (1.5 meters).
Jun V Lao snow blenny :P
Suzan Meldonian Hi Jun, hmmmm, can't find that in my book either...

Diana Schmitt Like frosted flakes Jun?
Jun V Lao popsicle blenny? :P
Suzan Meldonian Thank you Blogie Robillo ^_^ that was one of my guesses, but I was having trouble finding one with that thick dorsal fin. - Jun ...sounds like u need to go diving
Blogie Robillo Oh yeah, the dorsal fin's different...
Jun V Lao? Are you kidding me? He spends more time underwater than anyone else I know! :D
Marli Wakeling Looks similar to a Starry blenny. They are quite variable. I photographed them at Nudi Falls and at the Mandarin site. They had light faces like this, different than in my guidebooks. Salarius ramosus.
Suzan Meldonian Thank you Marli & Blogie. I photographed this at the Mandarin site.
Suzan Meldonian also thought it might be Ceram Blenny
Salarias ceramensis ...its the dorsal fin thats got me puzzled. Its very different=thick.
Blogie Robillo ID pls for this blenny? Spotted it in less than 5m of water
Kati Burg Maybe
Salarias fasciatus. We find them in shallow waters near the shore.
Lee Goldman or the Ceram Blenny (
Salarias ceramensis). Also found in similar habitats and ranges at about the same size as the Jewelled Blenny. I'm going with this because of the random and variable-sized spots and lack of distinct bars (with spots in them) along the side which is a pattern associated with the Jewelled Blenny.
Blogie Robillo Thanks Kathrin and Lee! Yup, I think it's the Ceram Blenny. :)
