Cirrhilabrus lubbocki

Randall & Carpenter, 1980

YBhg Ivan Choong On my recent trip to Manado, Sulawesi, Indonesia I attempted to photograph this neon-ic Yellowback wrasse (Cirrhilabrus lubbocki). Shooting during sunset, the male was busy defending it's harem and territory by zipping across the reef and flashing it's pectoral fins. It was sure not an easy task but worth watching them in full display. Shot with an Olympus E-3, 40-150mm tele-lens with an extension tube. Housing in an Ikelite housing using dual Inon D-2000W strobes on manual settings. For more images, visit http://www.photosbyivan.com/
