Halicampus boothae
(Whitley, 1964)
Kati Burg ID help please. Small pipefish (Halicampus sp.?) found between the arms of a brittle star. About 6 cm, found at 8 meters depth, Romblon Island, Philippines.
Michelle TinsayHalicampus punctatus (according to a Japanese Book)

Blogie Robillo Yup, I also think this is H. boothae. (Accdg to EOL, H. punctatus is a fairly deep dwelling species.)
Kati Burg I did some research, too. To me it looks like Halicampus nitidus. http://fishpix.kahaku.go.jp/fishimage-e/detail?START=534&FAMILY=Syngnathidae&SPECIES=&LOCALITY=&FISH_Y=&FISH_M=&FISH_D=&PERSON=&PHOTO_ID=&JPN_FAMILY_OPT=1&FAMILY_OPT=0&JPN_NAME_OPT=1&SPECIES_OPT=1&LOCALITY_OPT=1&PERSON_OPT=1&PHOTO_ID_OPT=2
Carl-Johan Nilsson Looks like a nitidus, snout doesn't match boothae.
