Ex Liao what kind of scorpionfish is this? saw it initially covered with sand at 20ft in depth, 18cm long at balicasag?
Kati Burg Most probably Inimicus didactylus.
Aqeeb Lizalman Indian walker
Ex Liao thanks for the i.d. Kathrin Hachenberg and Aqeeb Lizalman, so this is the indian walker or also known as the demon stinger...
Franca Wermuth-Vezzoli I was stung by one of these stingers in the knee (Lembeh) and I was surprised that it didn't hurt more than a bee sting! But of course I don't know if I just touched it slightly and I wouldn't encourage anybody to take any risks...
Ex Liao Franca Wermuth-Vezzoli, lucky it did not cause much damage as these stingers can be lethal...
Bob Whorton Indian Ocean Walkman, or Demon Stinger, or ouch that little bastard...
Carl-Johan Nilsson Spiny Devilfish in some books. We got a saying in Sweden, "dear child got many names".
Blogie Robillo Just wanna share this photo of a spiny devilfish (Inimicus didactylus). They're usually found on sandy bottoms in shallow water, which makes it rather dicey for fishermen and beachcombers. Their spines are highly poisonous!
