Julie Sy Harlequin Shrimp (Hymenocera picta) is also known as Clown Shrimp.
Ron Silver Julie, this is a Squat Shrimp, Thor amboinensis. Here's a photo of a Harlequin Shrimp, Hymenocera picta: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=497+525+749&pcatid=749

Dani Barchana Thank youJulie Sy, but Ron Silver is right , this is Thor emboiensis ! I was just having fun with all the common names, sorry.
Maurice Hein One of three beautiful little Harlequin Shrimp ~1cm (Hymenocera picta) i found under a rock in Tulamben. Not the best angle unfortunately, but still happy with the picture. F18, 1/160, ISO200, Sony NEX5 with Inon S2000 strobes and diopter.
David Salmanowitz Another relic from the film days, a harlequin shrimp (Hymenocera picta) on a sea fan in Burma. If I saw this pic immediately I would think the photographer moved the shrimp for a nicer background, but I did not. There were no other dive boats in the area, so I was amazed to see this natural behavior as I pretty much always see harlequin shrimp on the sand or rocks. On the 2nd dive returned to find one of the harlequins (there was a pair) munching on a sea star leg--sadly all the polyps on the fan were retracted then and it was just brown and not screaming red.
Ken Thongpila Oh! I didn't know it has heart sharp. Love it :-) Umm, next time I should look around rather than concentrate on the photos only :-) Thanks David.
David Salmanowitz Thanks Ken. I know as macro photographers we miss a lot of what is going on around us, but we need to work the subject and have patience.
