the tears of frustration to get this little beast in focus ;) on the subject anyone here any advice or experience on stacking two UCL 165's on a G series camera?
Evie Go Is this a special kind of soft coral crab? Very tiny & moves around a lot!
Lee Goldman Cool! I don' think this one has been fully described (Cymo spp.? - in the Xanthidae family) but I can tell you it is almost exclusively found on hard corals. Usually Pocilloporids (see my last comment on the Trapezia). Less so on Acroporids (which, in your photo, it is inhabiting). Paul Humann's book lists it as a 'Round Crab' and doesn't go too much further. This guy is also fairly common (especially in Pocilloprids) and may play the same role as the Trapezia.
Evie Go Thx Lee Goldman ^_^
Lee Goldman Your welcome Evie. Our mutual friends, for me, represent quite diverse times (and places) in my life. All great guys and friends :-)!
Arne Kuilman Very cool and rare crab. The teddybear crab (Cymo melanodactylus). Check out this ID shot from Oman: http://www.flickr.com/photos/brianmayes/3065654354/
Evie Go Furry Coral Crab (Cymo melanodactylus) Its the same crab, yes. But not a teddybear crab as some of my friends been telling me. I dnt see the pompoms & the eyes are not the same. Teddybear crabs have red eyes.
