Jesus Alvarez Saludos. Ron Silver. gracias
Ron Silver Could you please add some indication on your posts of where the photo was taken? This will make providing the proper ID a lot easier. Thanx.
Jesus Alvarez Hello, Ron Silver CHICHIRIVICHE BAY COAST, VARGAS STATE, VENEZUELA, GREETINGS
Mark Lessard ID please, Not sure what the name is, first time ever seeing it.
Found in 20 feet/7m around the Caribbean island of Nevis (Central West Indies)
About 1"/25mm in length and 1/2"/12mm wide and soft.
João Pedro Silva Pleurobranchus sp.. Might be P. areolatus.
Mark Lessard Not sure that is the correct info, neither one of the pictures of the above look anything like what I took, the P. Areolatus shows as a fish
João Pedro SilvaPleurobranchus areolatus is far from being a fish, Mark Lessard. You can be assured of that. Of course there are several animals whose genera start with "P" and whose specific epithet is "areolatus" (like Plectroplomus areolatus, a species of cod, or Perileptus areolatus, a species of beetle) but after establishing the genus "Pleurobranchus" I hope you haven't fallen in the mistake of searching for "P. areolatus" instead of "Pleurobranchus areolatus".
João Pedro Silva Now, here are a few sources which can make you feel more confortable regarding a possible ID as Pleurobranchus areolatus:
