Onchidoris oblonga
(Alder & Hancock, 1845)
Dan Bolt Hello folks, I'm thinking these tiny slugs from Shoalstone (Brixham, Devon, UK) are Onchidoris oblonga but as it's a bit of a rarity some confirmation would be very helpful, thank you :)
Dan Bolt That's what I thought, thank you!
Leila CB Joshua Hallas
Joshua Hallas they look like the oblonga i have
Joshua Hallas are you saying i'm an "expert" now Leila CB? cause i think terry would disagree
Bernard Picton This is officially new to Norway. We found several this week at Gulen.
Erling Svensen Well, I took pictures in 2011 of this specie - so new..... The picture was then named by Jussi.
Bernard Picton We had it on the list as needing confirmation, Erling, so now Jussi is happy that he's seen one in a dish. It is an addition to Jussi and Torkild's recent official list.
Terry Griffiths A very old photo so not very good your thoughts please
Sarah BowenOnchidoris oblonga?
Bernard Picton I think it could be Doris ocelligera.
Terry Griffiths This picture is 7 years old and never seen another one.
Sarah Bowen Where was this taken, Terry?
Terry Griffiths It was taken at Babbacombe Torquay Sarah ,going though my old files lots turning from before my interest in nudibranchs really started.
Sarah Bowen Interesting - when Bernard mentioned D. ocelligera, it reminded me of a photo from years back taken off Penzance with our first digital camera, which languished in a folder until we first met Bernard. He identified that for us. I'll try and dig it out!
Terry Griffiths Thank you Sarah.
Terry Griffiths Just looked on the photo's onThe Conchological Society and i would say a good match so another new one for me named thanks all.
