Physeter macrocephalus

Linnaeus, 1758

Kurt Amsler I would like to share with you one of my greatest adventure this year - freediving with one of the largest inhabitants of the Oceans - the Sperm whales !! (Physeter macrocephalus)The assigmend was actually on still photography. This clip was done with the small GoPro, on top of the SEACAM D800 housing. It will give you an impression of the action. The Azores, in the middle of the Atlantik, is the most difficult place to approach Sperm whales. On other spots, as the Carribean Dominica, it is more easier - but of course not the same challenge ..... Azores September 2013, with Freediving Champion Fred Buyle and Andreas Gruber. Photographer Kurt Amsler.

Bernie Campoli Kurt,Excellent What lens were you using on your D800/Port?
