Polydora pulchra
(Carazzi, 1895)
Susana Martins Any ideas beside B&W Underwater Macdonald's?
Marco Faasse Perhaps Mesochaetopterus rogeri: http://marenostrum.org/vidamarina/animalia/invertebrados/anelidos/mrogeri/
Susana Martins the picture was taken at Arrábida in Portugal in a sandy bottom at 9m and 14ºC water temperature
Marco Faasse first documented Atlantic occurrence? :-)
Inga WilliamsonPseudopolydora pulchra, I think
Marco FaassePseudopolydora pulchra is indeed somewhat similar, but the white stretches on the palps are rarely longer than 3x the black stretches in that species. Furthermore, it seldom, if ever, holds its palps in this neat way, which is usual for Mesochaetopterus. Judging from the size of the sand grains the size seems extremely large for P. pulchra.
