Aeolidiella faustina

Bergh, 1900

Karen Rochester Sorry for the quality of the pic, but I would like to confirm if this is a Aeolidiella drusilla or a Aeolidiella faustina? It was found at Bawley Point, south coast NSW (Australia).

Gary Cobb This has to be Aeolidiella drusilla because A. faustina is a synonym.

Karen Rochester Thanks.

Gary Cobb ...a synonym of Spurilla faustina (Bergh, 1900)

Gary Cobb Because your animal has smooth rhinophores it can't be Spurilla.

Karen Rochester Is this species generally found this far north?

Gary Cobb Typically a temperate species and with global warming and cooling anything is possible!!

Bianca Marie Brooks You should report it on Redmap, it's a website designed to record range expansions

Lucas CerCur I have contacted with Glenys Greenwood in order she can collect some material for me. This would permit to know if is an Aolidiella or an Aeolidia. Moreover, some material of Burnaia helicocorda is coming from Australia also. I'm very exitred for this because I would like to know the real phylogenetic position of this nomospecific genus within the family Aeolidiidae.

Karen Rochester Thanks Bianca Marie Brooks. Do you have the Redmap url please?

Karen Rochester Done - thanks.
