Cynthia D. Trowbridge Sacoglossan Costasiella on Avrainvillea... could be several species of Costasiella but cannot tell which without a better head shot.
Malida Alcazar Thanks Cynthia D. Trowbridge :)
Shane Siers My guess is C. kuroshimae.
Cynthia D. Trowbridge There at least 2 species going under the name C. kuroshimae (based on molecular and reproductive evidence). The original description was so poor that the best anyone can do--and what we have done--is study the species at the type location. Our research on the problems of C. "kuroshimae" was presented at the Japanese malacology meeting several years ago. The abstract is in Venus:
Hirano, Y.M., Trowbridge, C.D., Sudo, K., Nishida, K., and Hirano, Y.J. 2010. âœCostasiella kuroshimae†and the diversity of Costasiella (Gastropoda, Opisthobranchia, Sacoglossa) in Japan [in Japanese]. Venus 69: 94.
Shane Siers Viva science! Thank you, Cynthia.
Malida Alcazar Thank you Shane Siers

Maikel Tamalihis anyone now this nudibranch?
Orietta Rivolta Could be Costasiella kuroshimae Ichikawa,1993 http://www.nudipixel.net/photo/00012969/
Erwin Koehler a Costasiella 4 sure, there are many very similar species with poor descriptions by Ichikawa
Cynthia D. Trowbridge there are many more species (undescribed) in Okinawa ...we have been studying them for many years, particularly from the type localities of Ichikawa's species
Andre Snoopy Montenegro Please ID found at 5 meters around 1 cm size Dauin Philippines .

Andre Snoopy Montenegro thank you Jeff!
Andre Snoopy Montenegro different from Costasiella kuroshimae right?
Frank KrasovecCostasiella kuroshimae taken in Feb 2012 Dauin PHL: http://wetlens.smugmug.com/Underwater/Philippines/nudibranch/21852522_Cc5XXV#!i=1742976287&k=PVLPHFq
Cynthia D. Trowbridge very different from C. kuroshimae species complex. The Indo-Pacific is a hotspot of Costasiella speciation.
Anna Nudi Burn Very cool nudi!
Cynthia D. Trowbridge sacoglossan, not nudibranch :-)
Anna Nudi Burn My bad! - Very cool sacoglossan :-D
Gary Cobb We had a surgy couple of dives at Flinders Reef Moreton Island yesterday and found 26 species. Here is David Mullins, me and Jo posing at the surface interval in our new H1 Hybrid Waterproof drysuits, very warm aboard Mischief.

Thuridilla splendens
Trinchesia sp. 8
Patrik Good Congrats, good work. The variety of Thuridilla is exciting. With a few of the species I was not sure if they have just changed their names or if I just haven't come across them yet (eg. had to look Dori-S-prismatica atromarginata up).
Gary Cobb Sorry these suits are D1 species not H1!
Gary Cobb Patrik where did you find the spelling with an 's'? I had a re-look at the paper and it is spelled Doriprismatica, -> no 's'. Thanks! Yes we find quite a few Thuridilla at Flinders Reef.
Jim Anderson Your new suits are the business - I've been diving in one for 10 months, even down to 6 deg C. Not a problem your likely to have.
Gary Cobb Patrik the spelling of Doriprismatica is correct according to the paper.
Gary Cobb Hey Jim so you have a Di Hybrid?? Nice work. I love the suit!
Patrik Good Sorry Gary Cobb. Here the link I got it from: http://clade.ansp.org/obis/search.php/3587
Gary Cobb Patrik I think this site is old. It is saying Dorisprismatica is a synonym.
Gary Cobb I have written to Richard to get verification.
