Chromodoris mandapamensis

Valdés, Mollo & Ortea, 1999

Tine Kinn Kvamme Chromodoris mandapamensis with egg ribbon. Koh Tao, Thailand. Approx 60 mm length at 23 meters dept.

Gary Cobb I question this Nudibranch laid this egg mass because the scale and position of the egg mass is too small and the shoulder of the animal is way off.

Gary Cobb Plus the buccal mass is extended which means it is probably eating!

Tine Kinn Kvamme The eggs could also be from a Goniobranchus preciosus, Gary. I found a couple of those pretty close to this one :-)

Gary Cobb Ah hah!

Tracey Howley how beautiful.

Ken Thongpila wow! Never seen this Nudibranch before.. Where is Samran in Thailand Stefan ?

Stefan Follows Hi Ken :) Samran Pinnacle is between Koh Pha Ngan (where i live) and Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand. A very under dived site as a lot of it is unfortunately covered in ghost net :( however, it's a nudi paradise for us here as we see many of the more unusual and rare species for the Gulf. shhh! don't tell anyone ;))

Ken Thongpila wow! sound very good Stefan :-) I will go to diving in North-South Andaman in Jan so I guess off seasons for your area then :-(

Stefan Follows Jan can be very good but also bad here. it depends on when the monsoon ends! Andaman sea, mmmm very nice :))

Ken Thongpila I should find time to visit your are too.. I have been Andaman many times now...

Stefan Follows that would be wonderful! i look forward to it :))

Ken Thongpila Yes, I will sometime next year.... Love to go nudi hunts with you... A few of them I haven't seen them before including this one....

Stefan Follows brilliant! lets go a hunting...

Orietta Rivolta Great found ! __B-)
