Patricia Perret Devil scorpionfish Scorpaenopsis diabolus

Ron Silver Any photos of the inner surface of the pectoral fins? That would quickly put an end to any doubt about the ID!

Henry Jager Does somebody know how to differenciate the two Scorpionfish species Scorpaenopsis diabolus and Scorpaenopsis macrochir ? Thank you in advance!

Kati Burg S. macrochir is smaller, the hump is less pronounced and the snout is shorter. The inner side of the pectoral fins have different color displays. Here you can find graphic: http://www.starfish.ch/collection/scorpionfish.html

Henry Jager Thank you very much, Kathrin :-)

Kati Burg Gerne :-)
