Blake Auge We keep finding the yunguns, where are the parents?
Kati Burg Looks like a juvenile Warty Frogfish (Antennarius maculatus): http://www.frogfish.ch/species-arten/Antennarius-maculatus.html
Blake Auge warty or painted?
Kati Burg warty
Carl-Johan Nilsson Typical maculatus juve. So many of those in Anilao now, where is this from?
Blake Auge Samal Island, Mindanao, Philippines
Carl-Johan Nilsson Davao has become a really good macro location together with health coral reefs. Too bad many goverments deter people from travelling there since it's super safe nowadays.
Andrey Shpatak Anilao. Gigant frog fish & Chromodoris geometrica
Nikon D700+Tamron 90mm. Nov 2012.
Danny Ocampo Nice! Basura or secret bay?
Pat Sinclair Oh wow, a two for one shot!
Marc Levenson hah! Nice.
Andrey Shpatak Basura
Ron Silver Andrey, based on pattern of dorsal coloration and the purple rhinophores and gills, this appears to be C. hintuanensis
Andrey Shpatak Thanks, i am so good spesialist((
Ron Silver It's hard to keep up with all of the changes that are coming rapid fire these days what with all of the genetic testing being done. Technically, this is now Goniobranchus hintuanensis.
Ron Silver I don't mean to be picking on you Andrey, but the Frogfish also needs a clarification. This is the Pink Phase of the Warty Frogfish, Antennarius maculatus.
Kelly Bennett Walkotten 2 for 1. Nice!

Ron Silver WARTSKIN FROGFISH, Antennarius maculatus
Blogie Robillo I know it's not easy to tell this frogfish's species just by looking at this photo, but maybe someone can make an educated guess? It's a resident of Dayang Beach. It's been on that wood for sometime now, at around 12m depth. My friends' guess is that it's Antennarius maculatus.
Kati Burg To me it is not A. maculatus (if you look at the filaments on the chin), but it is really hard to tell. Maybe you find the answer here: http://www.frogfish.ch/species-arten/all-frogfish-species.html
Timothy Christian Te Does't have any warts, so it can't be maculatus. From the lure and chin growths, it looks like coccineus/freckled/scarlet froggy
Timothy Christian Te http://www.discoverlife.org/mp/20p?see=I_RR3072&res=640
Blogie Robillo Gasp! A new froggy species for us in Davao Gulf? Yay!!
Blogie Robillo Timothy Christian Te - Hey yeah, it does look like A. coccineus, shape-wise.
Shauming Lo Keep working guys, so we all learnt! Great job!
Jun V Lao guys, my favorite sirte identifying froggies http://frogfish.ch/
Mike Bartick Thanks Jun, you beat me to it...
Jun V Lao ooops sowi sowi
Mike Bartick If it is there often take a few more pics to ID it. Front, side, and detailed shots. Also a photo of the lure, this is vital for proper ID and,....size reference. It hard to get a good view of the details at this angle. Timothy may be right..
Jun V Lao u may also rotate ccw, i had to rotate my laptop for a better view hehe
Blogie Robillo Jun V - Sorry chief. It's the naturalist in me -- don't like portraying sand as sky :D
Jun V Lao salut salut :P
Blogie Robillo Mike Bartick - Sorry, don't have other angles. I don't like repositioning critters underwater, so I make do with the angles presented to me. :)
Mike Bartick I didn't ask you to reposition....just try some different angles on another visit...
Blogie Robillo Been trying to do that, Mike. But everytime I visit they (there are 2 of them there) are always hiding most of their body parts! :D
