Jeremy Pierce Are these fan worms, Serpula vermicularis??? Please! Taken on the wreck of the Rosehill, in Whitsand Bay Devon/Cornwall in the holes in the face of the boilers at about 28m....Cheers JAP

Marco Faasse Looks like Protula ..

Keith Hiscock Protula tubularia - a frequent inhabitat of the boiler tubes. Serpula vermicularis has a very prominent operculum. Was the pic. taken today? You had visibility!?

Jeremy Pierce Yesterday morning......had about 3m, a bit murky but up close was fine!!

Jane Wilkinson Don't think I've ever seen such a vibrant colour version of these. Usually creams/browns/beige

Darryl Mayer As above, Protula tub. Serpula vermicularis has a trumpet shaped operculum (hence one of it's common names, Trumpet worm. Jane, they are also found in these vibrant colours up here, which is why folks think they could be Serpula v. ;-)
